The Gothenburg Choir Event
video, 6 minutes, 2003, collaboration with Kalle Brolin

This video documents an event that took place one ordinary January evening at Gothenburg central station. Members of a church choir, disguised as travelers and spread out in the departure hall, one by one start singing the drinking song "Gubben Noak" amongst surprised or indifferent travelers. What begins with one lone singer's fragile and embarrassing voice, gradually builds up to a veritable concert - as more and more singers join in - and the train travelers become the unwitting, but ultimately attentive, audience. Brolin and Linder were inspired by singing scenes in movies to stage The Gothenburg Choir Event and inspire a feeling of solidarity in a public space.
